GD III for Thursday, Oct. 4

Due at the beginning of class:

A fully realized drawing in pencil on tracing paper of a more advanced solution of your layout/design for the accordian-fold book as per the demo today.

Remember:
• vary the scale (small, medium, large) of graphic elements, photos and display (headline) type
• preserve white space! do not fill up, but rather, design the white or negative space to lead the eye
• use visual devices (contrast, scale, position) to lead the viewer through the composition
• think about ABA form (statement, departure, return)
• the entire book should be considered as one long composition, but each individual panel must also function well

As soon as you have proven to me that you have a solid plan for the overall composition, you can move on to creating/producing this on the computer.

Have all of your photos/images/research readily available as useable digital files and BRING THEM to class on a flash drive.
